Local groups' activities

Weekly scheduled Mass times

Saturdays, 5:00pm. Recitation of the Rosary is held after Mass on the first Saturday of the month.

Sundays, 9:30am, including separately held Children's Liturgy of the Word most weeks during the school year.

Coffee is offered in the Parish Hall after every regularly scheduled weekend (Saturday and Sunday) Mass, except on any dates noted below.

Events in September 2010

Friday, 3rd September, 6:00pm: Ecumenically Active Together, the interfaith group in Frankfurt for people 50 and older, holds wine and cheese reception, featuring a presentation by Oikocredit Hessen-Pfalz Bank representative Matthias Lehnert on mini-loans to individual entrepreneurs and cooperatives in developing countries, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Nibelungenallee 54, 60318 Frankfurt (Nordend). Saturday, 4th September, 6:00pm and Sunday, 5th September, 10:30pm: Ministry Information Days allowing parishioners during the weekly after-Mass coffee socials to discuss ministries and other voluntary programs with representatives and to sign up as a volunteer. Sunday, 5th September, 6:00pm: Christian Mystics of the 20th Century monthly discussion series begins, led by Ricarda Moufang of the Holy Cross Center for Christian Meditation and Spirituality in Frankfurt, with "What is Mysticism?" as the introductory topic, in the Parish Hall. Sunday, 19th September, 9:30am
: Festival in honor of the tradition of the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, hosted by the Indian, Pakistani and Sri Lankan communities, including Marian hymns from the subcontinent during Mass and food from the region at the weekly social afterward in the Parish Hall.

Sunday, 26th September, 1:00pm-6:00pm: Newcomers Festival takes place in the Frankfurt Römer/City Hall, Römerberg, downtown Frankfurt, providing information on organizations and businesses aimed at foreigners living in the region and featuring stands from English-language parishes including St. Leonhard's and St. Mary's. Events in October 2010

Sunday, 3rd October: No after-Mass coffee in Parish Hall due to German parish's harvest festival celebration; 7:00pm: Christian Mystics of the 20th Century monthly discussion, focusing on the works of Henri Nouwen, led by Ricarda Moufang of the Holy Cross Center for Christian Meditation and Spirituality in Frankfurt, in the Parish Hall. Saturday, 23rd October, 3:00pm* and Sunday, 24th October, 11:15am*: Ministers of the Word training sessions take place in the Parish Hall for current and new lectors (dates to be confirmed). To join this ministry, please contact coordinator Prosy Hennessy at tel.

Saturday, 30th October, 2:00pm
: Ecumenical service of Frankfurt's English-language churches, at St. Leonhard's Church, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. Part of the city's Intercultural Week program.

Events in November 2010

Tuesday, 2nd November, 7:30pm: All Souls' Day Mass.

Sunday, 7th November: No after-Mass coffee in Parish Hall due to German parish's observance of St. Leonard's feast day; 7:00pm: Christian Mystics of the 20th Century monthly discussion, focusing on the writings of Edith Stein, led by Ricarda Moufang of the Holy Cross Center for Christian Meditation and Spirituality in Frankfurt, in the Parish Hall. Sunday, 14th November, 9:30am: Remembrance/Armistice Sunday observance at the weekly Mass.

Saturday, 27th November, 9:00am*: Advent Day of Reflection (time, location to be confirmed).

Events later in 2010

Sunday, 5th December, 9:30am: Second Sunday of Advent Mass, including results of annual children's painting competition.

Wednesday, 8th December, 7:30pm
: Mass of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

Wednesday, 15th December*, 7:30pm
: Reconciliation service, with opportunity for individual Confession (date tentative).

Friday, 24th December, 3:00pm
: Christmas carols followed at 3:30pm by Christmas Vigil Mass.

Saturday, 25th December, 9:30am: Christmas Day Mass.

Events in 2011

Friday, 20th May 6:00pm-9:00pm and Saturday, 21st May, 9:00am-4:00pm: Pre-Cana course for couples wishing to get married in the coming year, in the Parish Hall. Please register with the Parish Office at tel. (069) 283 177 or email@stleonhards.org.
