Events in March 2014

Note: Summer Time/Daylight Saving Time starts in Europe early on the morning of Sunday, 30th March; clocks should be set AHEAD 1 hour overnight Saturday 29th March-Sunday 30th March.

Sunday, 30th March, 9:30am: Mass of the 4th Sunday of Lent, including Children's Mass, followed by the weekly coffee social.

Events in April 2014

Wednesday, 2nd April, 7:00pm: Educational video series, Catholicism, narrated by Father Robert Barron of Mundelein Seminary in the U.S., and discussion on the faith, followed approximately 8:00pm by midweek Lenten Mass.

Wednesday, 9th April, 7:00pm
: Educational video series, Catholicism, narrated by Father Robert Barron of Mundelein Seminary in the U.S., and discussion on the faith, followed at approximately 8:00pm by Lenten Reconciliation Service, including opportunity for individual confession in preparation for Easter.

Note: The Dippemess (spring fair) takes place Friday 11th April through Sunday 4th May at the Eissporthalle near Holy Cross Church, so parking in the area is restricted to neighborhood residents only and all other vehicles will be towed. The church parking lot/car park is available; please tell the guards at the neighborhood entry checkpoints that you are attending Mass then drive directly to the Holy Cross parking lot on
Löwengasse. Use of public transport is recommended during the Dippemess; see the Directions page for bus and train lines serving the church.

Sunday, 13th April, 9:30am: Palm Sunday Mass, followed by the weekly coffee social in the Holy Cross social hall and, for children ages 9 through 12, a semi-monthly religious education program. Friday, 18th April, 12 noon: Good Friday service.

Saturday, 26th April: Vigil Mass is cancelled this week due to German community event.

: Pre-Cana Course of preparation required for those wishing to marry in the Roman Catholic church in the coming year. To register and obtain other details on requirements prior to marriage, please contact the Parish Office at (069) 28 31 77 or email@stleonhards.org.

Wednesday, 4th June, 7:00pm: Educational video series, Catholicism, narrated by Father Robert Barron of Mundelein Seminary in the U.S., and discussion on the faith.

Saturday, 7th June, 6:00pm:
Pentecost Vigil Mass (in German and selected other languages) at St. Bartholomäus Cathedral/Dom, Domplatz, 60311 Frankfurt (City) of the foreign-language Catholic parishes of Frankfurt. Note: No English-language Mass this evening at Holy Cross Church.

Sunday, 8th June, 1:00pm: Mass of the Feast of Pentecost, at St. Georgen Theological College, Offenbacher Landstr. 224, 60599 Frankfurt (Oberrad district) followed by the annual Parish Picnic on the college grounds. Note: The English-language Mass today is only at St. Georgen and no Mass takes place at Holy Cross Church.

Thursday, 19th June, 10:00am-3:00pm: Corpus Christi celebration by Frankfurt's Roman Catholic parishes, starting with Mass in the Römerberg in downtown Frankfurt, followed by a procession to the Dom/St. Bartholomew's Cathedral with the Holy Eucharist and then a festival in the square outside the cathedral. To volunteer to set up, clean up or serve food at the St. Leonhard's annual charity fund-raising booth at the festival, please contact Tom Lavell at (069) 2199 6698.

Selected Events Later in 2014

Saturday, 20th September, 9:30am-2:00pm*: Annual ecumenical charity walk along the St. Boniface Trail by the English-language parishes of Frankfurt; 5:00pm*: Diocese of Limburg Mass of foreign-language Roman Catholic Parishes in honor of the traditional Birth of the Virgin Mary, at Frauenfriedenkirche, Frankfurt. (Exact times and locations to be confirmed).

Sunday, 21st September, 9:30am: Mass of the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time, including Marian hymns in various languages of the Indian Subcontinent, followed by the annual festival in honor of the traditional Birth of the Virgin Mary in September hosted in the Holy Cross social hall by parishioners from the Subcontinent.
