What is the Support Network?

The Support Network is a project that brings together neighbourly help for improving residents' daily situation.

This will be implemented by the Support Network Office.

The Project is aimed at senior citizens, disabled and sick people in the Northend/Eastend/City Centre areas and it is nondenominational.

Requests for assistance in housekeeping, such as cleaning, shopping or doing errands, will be accepted by the Support Network Office, which can then obtain the appropriate help requested.

Who is running it?

The Catholic Parishes of St Bernhard, All Saints, and the Cathedral, as well as the Portuguese, Spanish and English-speaking Parishes, are sponsoring this program.

St. Bernhard

What are the objectives?

The program will allow persons seeking assistance to enjoy extended autonomy in their own homes, thus improving their quality of life.

The Support Network offers locally organised, flexible employment for persons who are looking for hourly work and the opportunity to earn some money.

Who comes to your home?

The helpers have been carefully chosen and instructed.

There will be extensive interviews with them before their first ‘assignment’.

During the time of their work for the Support Network, there will be continuing qualifications and training in various areas.

The helper will be covered by insurance provided by the Support Network.

What does it cost?

At this time, the assignments cost €12.50 per hour.

The helpers receive €8.50 per hour and €4.00 goes for insurance, instruction and administration.

An enormous relief for you:

There is no exchange of money between the helpers and the customers. The customers receive a monthly invoice for the hours of work from the Support Network Office.

The project of the Support Network Northend/Eastend/City Centre is promoted by the Diocese of Limburg
